Order Types
Please see the table below for definitions of Order Types
Order Type |
Definition |
Use Case |
Sample Image |
Site Digitization |
Site Digitization orders initiate the digitization of equipment based on the site layout you provide. Once completed, you will have a digital twin of your solar asset. These orders are typically only necessary when you wish to access the digital twin prior to receiving the first inspection report for a site. |
Standard |
Standard level aerial inspections balance altitude, speed, and granular site data, from high level inverter issues down to sub-module hot spots. |
| Comprehensive |
Comprehensive level aerial IR inspections are performed in compliance with IEC standards. It provides highly detailed, sub-module-level granular data and allows teams to thoroughly understand the performance of each PV module. This inspection level offers temperate deltas and enables accurate sorting and prioritization of both module and string-level anomalies by temperature intensity. |
Overview |
An Overview inspection is flown at the highest altitude and allows for string, inverter and combiner issues to be identified. |
| Agrivoltaics - Animal Assessment |
Assess the condition and location of animals on the solar site mitigates a number of risks for the owner and operator. The inspection deliverable includes a count of visible animals (e.g. sheep) in the targeted area as well as localized anomalies for any trapped, injured or deceased animal in the targeted area. |
BESS Yard |
Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Yard inspections provide technicians and operators with actionable findings which help reduce the risk overheating components, wildlife intrusion, and signs of damage. |
Capacity Testing |
Capacity Testing inspections assess offline strings and combiners in real-time using livestream thermal imagery combined with Overview level anomaly detection. Detects thermal signatures that indicate faulty connections, defective components, or installation errors across string and combiner levels. |
| Construction Mapping |
During solar site construction, orthomosaic (high-resolution stitched together imagery) mapping gives stakeholders a comprehensive view of the entire project, allowing them to track construction progress and installation of key components. |
| Construction Monitoring |
Construction Monitoring inspections collect and analyze data on construction progress, helping you verify contractor reports, and identify and prevent project delays. |
| Custom Analytics |
Any request not covered by another inspection type requiring Raptor Maps to, in addition to collecting data, store images into the digital twin and quantify, measure, or analyze the images. |
| Desert Tortoise Fence |
Our Desert tortoise (DETO) fencing inspection utilizes high-resolution RGB imagery to quickly evaluate the integrity of wildlife exclusion fencing around a solar site. The inspection identifies fence damage, erosion occurring near fence-lines, or other obstructions that could compromise the structural integrity of the fence-line. |
| Erosion |
Erosion inspections identify any signs of source, structural or surface erosion, as well as water management issues and vegetation health. More information here. |
| Fire Watch - Reactive |
Sentry Only: Having a docked drone on site can often be the quickest form of response to getting to the fire and to give all stakeholders a better understanding of the extent of the fire/damage. |
| Fire Watch - Scheduled |
Sentry Only: Similar to Fire Watch - Reactive, however this inspection has no analytics. If a fire or smoke is detected, pilots will navigate to the fire and capture imagery which will be used for data analysis. |
Image Capture |
Ad-hoc visual imagery inspection of equipment or site conditions Raw imagery (no analytics) |
| Inverter Pad |
Inverter pad inspections provide a routine look at the inverter pad from all sides |
| Livestream |
Livestreaming from Raptor Solar Sentry provides live RGB or thermal video of the drone’s path in real time. Livestream inspections can be done as an add-on to any other inspection (where users can “ride along”) or as a standalone inspection allowing users to have an eye in the sky to view the state of the site or surrounding area looking for safety issues, fire, or conducting virtual site walks. |
| Met Station |
Met station inspections provide a routine look at met stations on site from all sides |
| Perimeter Monitoring |
Perimeter inspections utilize orthomosaic, oblique and thermal and RGB imagery. Anomalies are classified into low, medium and high priority. |
POI |
POI inspections focus on the point of interconnection (POI) to ensure that the connection between a solar power system and the electrical grid is safe, compliant, and ready for operation. |
| Security - Reactive |
Reactive security inspections use thermal and RGB imagery. They rapidly assess perimeters and access points to identify unauthorized personnel, vehicles, or equipment. |
| Security - Scheduled |
Pre-scheduled security inspections proactively monitor site perimeters and access points using thermal and RGB imagery to detect unauthorized personnel, vehicles, or equipment during day or nighttime hours. |
| Severe Weather Response |
Imagery is collected in RGB and/or thermal formats. All issues detected will be classified by severity of high, medium or low for filtering and prioritization. |
| Site Conditions Assessment |
The site conditions inspection type serves as a rapid assessment of weather, ground conditions and equipment to aid in the decision making process of whether or not to deploy field teams on a given day, which personnel and equipment to bring, and what safety conditions to expect within the array. |
Substation |
Substation inspections focus on the substation and identify any issues related to operational safety and mitigate the risk of site-wide outages. |
Thin Film Cracking |
Thin Film Cracking inspections identify small-scale cracking via a unique set of low-altitude flight specifications. This enables identification of cracking which may otherwise be undetectable from traditional aerial inspection. Highly recommend use of M3T or M30T due to increased image-capture rates. |
| Tracker Bushing Identification |
Tracker bushings, commonly manufactured by GameChange are plastic rings that enable Rotation/pivot of the tracker table and minimize friction allowing the table to move with ease. Bushing cracking and failure may lead larger issues involving the stability and durability of the entire row or tracker system. |
| Tracker Malfunction |
Tracker malfunction inspections rapidly detect malfunctioning trackers and localize them to the Raptor Solar digital twin. |
| Tracker Stow Verification |
Tracker stow confirmation inspections provide fast, site-wide visibility into actual tracker position. High-resolution aerial imagery and enhanced angle analysis verify stow compliance across every row, identifying isolated failures that SCADA data and spot checks miss. |
Vegetation |
Vegetation inspections analyze the growth and health of vegetation across a site and highlight any impacts to power generation at the equipment-level. |
Wiring |
Wiring inspections analyze the health of your equipment wiring and connectors. |
